PROJECTS OF W.I.T.

Writers In Treatment publishes a book every year of donated short stories, essays, screenplays, poems and non-fiction by some of the best writers in the world. The collection will be available from Amazon.com. All proceeds will benefit W.I.T.

Writers In Treatment sponsors creative writing workshops with well know writers, poets, playwrights and memoirists.

We will host a film series at the Skirball Institute in Los Angeles, CA. With sponsorship from local and national treatment facilities, we will screen classic films dealing with addiction or alcoholism and moderate an audience discussion after each film. The films will include Leaving Las Vegas, Permanent Midnight, The Night of the Iguana, 28 Days, Boogie Nights, Lost Weekend, Trainspotting, Man with a Golden Arm, Less Than Zero. When possible the writer or cast members will introduce the film and join the post screening discussion.

Every year there will be a banquet honoring W.I.T. contributors, notable addiction professionals, and successful participants of our program.

W.I.T. will sponsor a yearly comedy concert featuring humor related to addiction and recovery.

www.writersintreatment.org will host regular on-line auctions of first edition, signed and collectible books and scripts.
